First published in 1960, this is the only authorized account of the trial of Francis Gary Powers, the U-2 pilot shot down by the Soviet Union on May 1, 1960. The court proceedings were held before the Military Division of the Supreme Court of the U.S.S.R. in Moscow, Russia and commenced on August 17, 1960 and concluded on August 19, 1960.
