While this edition does not solve all problems, no edition could. It is a beautiful piece of work. This is one of the great philosophical books of all time having changed philosophy and culture as well. The book was intended to put an end to academic philosophy which is one reason that it has divided academicians into two camps - religious followers and those who despise the book. But you have to read it for yourself to be even within the domain of literate. It is a well written collection of sometimes aphoristic remarks, many of which have crept into literature and even scientific thought. Det här är historien om en man som ingen kände. Den schweiziske bankiren och nazisten François Genoud är en av det förra seklets stora gåtor. Vem var denne man, som i sin person förenade de mest extrema åsikterna och uttrycken under 1900-talet? Själv sa han: Mina uppfattningar har inte ändrats sedan jag var en ung man. Hitler var en stor ledare och om han vunnit kriget hade världen varit en bättre plats att leva på. François Genoud föddes 1915 och växte upp i Schweiz. Sjutton år gammal, 1932, skakade han Adolf Hitlers hand. För den unge Genoud blev detta början på en livslång och hängiven lojalitet med nazismen. Efter Nazitysklands sammanbrott förvärvade Genoud publiceringsrättigheterna till Goebbels dagböcker och Martin Bormanns brev. Dessa brev och dagböcker gjorde honom förmögen. Pengarna finansierade bland annat försvaret i rättegångarna mot Adolf Eichmann och Klaus Barbie. När Genoud insåg att kampen för att återupprätta nazismen gått förlorad satsade han på den arabiska nationalismen. Hans hat mot judar var glödande och han skaffade sig nya vänner: i Jerusalems mufti, bland algeriska frihetskämpar, de palestinska terrorgruppernas ledare Wadi Haddad, den ökände terroristen Illich Ramírez Sánchez, Carlos (känd under namnet Schakalen) och terroristerna i tyska RAF. Hur kan det då komma sig att denne mörkerman gick fri? Svaret är nog att många behövde honom och än mer hans pengar. Enligt Willi Winkler samarbetade Genoud såväl med den schweiziska som tyska säkerhetspolisen, indirekt med CIA, och troligtvis även med israeliska Mossad och den franska säkerhetstjänsten. Hans mytomspunna gestalt är hela spionromangenren personifierad. Hos Genoud förenas nazismen med vänsterextremismen och den muslimska fundamentalismen. Den gemensamma nämnaren är hatet mot Israel och judendomen. François Genoud tog sitt liv 1996, vid 81 års ålder, genom att följa några av sina gamla naziidolers exempel och tömma en bägare gift.
