描述
Family values are a set of social norms that those in the movement use to define a family, its acceptable structure, and the perceived proper roles of its members. The family values movement, a conservative movement that strongly supports traditional social values, is politically powerful, well organized, and quite vocal. Since 1980, the Republican Party has used the issue of family values to attract voters. Such organizations as the Christian Coalition of America and the American Family Association have tied the family values movement to Christianity and to the belief that Christian values should play more important roles in everyday society. This new book offers students an objective look at an important movement that has wielded great influence on the political landscape even as it has attracted criticism and controversy.
