被中國官方抹去的一頁血腥歷史,我們以記憶填補。停格在八九‧六四這一天的不只是無數年輕的生命,還有整體世代對國家未來的希望。大國在資本堆砌下崛起;在極權與殘缺的人性中沉淪。八九天安門事件分三個階段: (一)八九學運和民運 (二)六四屠殺 (三)六四屠殺發生後的全國性抗議活動和全國性大逮捕行動。這些年來,中共官方和海外民間都出版了一些有關八九天安門事件的書籍,但無論是中共官方還是民間的書籍,記錄都不完整,而且都存在一些問題。中共官方書籍的主要問題是:1.歪曲事實,甚至捏造「事實」;2.極力抹黑學運、民運及學生和民眾的行為;3.刻意隱瞞真相,尤其是隱瞞屠殺真相。民間書籍的主要問題是:1.資料不全,尤其是關於戒嚴部隊和屠殺的資料不全;2.對一些重要事件、組織及人物的記錄語焉不詳,尤其是有關戒嚴部隊及屠殺的記錄存在不少錯誤;3.對六四屠殺發生後的民眾抗暴活動及官方的大逮捕行動少有記錄;4.忽略北京以外的情況。八九天安門事件曾經震驚世界,不僅改變了中國的進程,也在一定程度上影響了蘇聯及東歐共產國家發生劇變。其影響及歷史地位遠超過五四運動,應該有一部翔實的書籍予以記錄。本書初稿完成於2009年,多年來歷經多次修改、增補,從1989年4月15日至1989年6月30日逐日記錄了所發生的事情。可以說,這是迄今為止最翔實、最完整地記錄八九天安門事件的書籍。
