This book goes into detail with five extensive articles related to recent advances in surface science (1974). The contents are: 1) Determination of the structure and properties of solid surfaces by electron diffraction and emission (measuring the structure and properties of solid surfaces by measuring and analyzing scattering emission of electrons from these surfaces), 2) Electron spectroscopy of chemisorption of metals (study of chemisorption on clean, single crystal surfaces of metals utilizing the method of field emission of from adsorbate covered surfaces and the method of photoemission spectroscopy), 3) Surface plasma oscillations and related surface effects in solids (study of oscillations in solid-state plasmas), 4) Theory of dynamical properties of dielectric surfaces (study of the lattice vibrations present on surfaces), 5) Some comments on the electronic properties of liquid-metal surfaces (theories and analysis of liquid-metal surfaces).
