In daily life we will occasionally encounter a few idiomatic expressions which not only enrich our vocabulary but also enable us to communicate even more effectively. Therefore, familiarity with idiomatic expressions is a great aid to our speech and writing.Idioms have many origins. Some originated in stories from history, some in folk legends, some in poetry and fiction, and others were derived from China's classical literature. "Stories From Classical Allusions" does not include all the sources indicated above, but is a selection from them. The idioms selected generally have two common characteristics: the first is that these stories all have a historical background, and the second is that the "idiom stories" anthologized in this book are rather interesting or of a satirical nature. Moreover, during the composition of these stories a dialogue style was adopted whenever possible for more lively, less boring reading.It is hoped that through reading this book the reader will be able to take an interest towards Chinese "idiom stories". At the same time it is hoped that the reader will make progress in learning even more idioms, so that in conversation and in writing he may employ a richer vocabulary.
